One bite of these fragrant, satisfying lamb chops and you’ll swear you’ve died and gone to Greece. With a base of fruity olive oil and tangy red wine vinegar, the marinade for these chops also includes aromatics such as oregano, rosemary, and plenty of black pepper. Once you get the lamb chops into their marinade, allow them to bathe for an hour, after which you’re just 10 minutes away from perfectly juicy-on-the-inside, crispy-on-the-outside chops! When air-frying your lamb chops, be sure to arrange them in a single layer. Take the few extra minutes to cook them in batches if necessary, the results are worth it!

How to make air fryer lamb chops

There are dozens of ways to cook lamb chops in the air fryer. The easiest way to air fry lamb is to marinate for an hour and place in the air fryer for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.

For this air fryer lamb chop recipe we use a marinade made from olive oil, red wine vinegar and various dried herbs.

How long does it take to cook lamb chops in the air fryer?

The most common way to cook lamb chops in the air fryer is at 400˚F for 10 minutes, flipping halfway. You can cook a little longer at lower temperature, but we’ve found that 400˚F works well. The USDA recommends that Lamb chops have an internal temperature of at least 145˚F (let the lamb chops rest for 3 minutes after removing from the air fryer).

What goes well with lamb chops?

Lamb chops are always a hit but choosing the right sides can make a good lamb chop recipe into an amazing dinner. Some sides that go well with lamb chops are:

  • Corn on the Cob

What temperature should lamb chops be?

Ideally, lamb chops should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145˚F. Well done lamb chops will tend to be dry and taste a little gamey and rare lamb chops are unsafe to eat according to the USDA.

Rare Lamb = 125˚F
Medium Lamb = 140˚F
Well Done Lamb = 160˚F

The temperatures above represent the final internal temperature. Please note, you should remove the lamb chops from the air fryer when the internal temperature is 5˚F below the desired final temperature as the lamb chops will continue to cook and the internal temperature will continue to rise after removal from heat.

Can you eat rare lamb chops?

According to the USDA, Lamb chops should have an internal temperature of at least 145˚F (62.8°C) to be consumed safely. Cooking lamb at the right temperature and for the correct length of time will ensure that any harmful bacteria are killed. A lamb chop with an internal temperature of at least 145˚F that has rested for 3 minutes is safe to eat.

How do you cook lamb without drying it out?

Cooking any meat quickly at higher temperatures will help keep the meat from drying out. As such, cooking lamb in an air fryer is a great way to cook it without drying it out. This recipe will ensure a juicy lamb chop every time.

How to reheat lamb chops in the air fryer

Reheating lamb chops in the air fryer is one of the best ways to reheat those leftover lamb chops. Preheat air fryer to 300˚F, place cooked lamb chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, spray olive oil and air fry for 4-8 minutes depending on thickness.

Is lamb healthier than beef?

Lamb typically has more saturated fat than beef or pork. Saturated fat can raise your levels of bad cholesterol. Lamb tends to be grass-fed, and as such, it tends to have more omega-3 fatty acids than beef. In addition to omega-3 fatty acids, lamb can be a good source of vitamin B, zinc, iron, and selenium.

How long can you keep cooked lamb chops in the refrigerator?

According to the USDA, cooked lamb chops can be safely stored in the refrigerator 3 to 4 days after cooking.
