A question I’m asked frequently is what type of oil should I use in my Air Fryer.
A good oil for use in air frying needs to have a high smoke point and be low in fat to keep in with the benefits of using an air fryer over a conventional deep fryer where the food is completely submerged in oil. Health wise the good fats polyunsaturated and monounsaturated vs bad saturated fat, Canola oil wins hands down as well as this the oil has a high smoke point which is great for air frying. See the table below for smoke points and fat amounts per tablespoon.
1) Rice Bran Oil
Smoke point of 232 °C
Fats per Tablespoon
Saturated fat 2.7 g

Monounsaturated fat 5 g
2) Peanut Oil
